Fahrettin Altun Appointed Turkish Ambassador to Vatican

(MENAFN) Fahrettin Altun, previously head of the Presidency’s Communications Directorate and chair of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye (TIHEK), has been appointed as ambassador to the Holy See, according to reports.

The appointment was part of a broader round of diplomatic postings announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and formalized through a presidential decision published in Türkiye’s Official Gazette.

Other notable appointments include Mustafa Kibaroglu as permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Vienna, Mustafa Turker Ari as ambassador to Georgia at the Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi, and Baris Ceyhun Erciyes, deputy director general for the Balkans and Central Europe at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, as ambassador to Albania based in Tirana.
